On November 18, 2019, MIC invited the US Consul for Public Affairs ＆ Director of the American Center,  Yuki Kondo-Shah, to lecture on “Soft Power” in international relations and how it applies to academics.

Ms. Kondo-Shah talked about the importance of soft power for peacebuilding. She also introduced us to various services provided by the Fukuoka American Center, such as advising on study abroad in the United States and internships at the US consulate.

She also engaged participating students in activities to review the soft powers of some well-known countries. Ms. Kondo-Shah also took time to answer students’questions after the lecture. We thank Ms. Kondo-Shah for giving us such a great learning opportunity!
